The long drive (OC)

It was 2AM, the moon was high in the sky and your night shift had just ended. All things considered being a night guard wasn’t the hardest job especially since you clocked in after closing time and left at a point where you’d be waking up before noon so you could do something with your day. It helped that the mall you were protecting wasn’t exactly the most alive place, being filled with fast food joints and a few shops which meant there wasn’t much to steal and the shops that were there had much easier to steal from analogs outside the store. The most you usually experience were drunks who had wandered the wrong way and teenagers looking for somewhere to fuck around with, both of which usually left when you told them to leave. You groaned, deciding to leave work behind you as you moved into the empty car park attached to the mall, rows and rows of empty parking spaces surrounding you as you unlocked your car,a flashing orange light spreading across the air before you opened the door and moved inside, relaxing in a seat that was somehow more comfortable than anything in the mall.

You quickly started your car, the dashboard lights coming on and the radio starting up, the station playing a more chilled out mix then they did during the day as you began your drive home. You moved through the winding path out of the car park, being glad that they had removed the gates so you could leave without having to figure out the toll system, exiting onto the main road home. Much like the car park the road was mostly quiet, the city not having much of a nightlife and as such the only people on the road were late night truckers and people like you, the hum of your engine being one of the few noises on the silent road. You looked up at the sky to see the moon and a vast empty void, the light of the stars having been snuffed out by the light of the city.

As you drove you noticed that there was something happening ahead of you, varying Orange lights flashing in the air as you wondered what the hell was going on as you started to slow down. A sign would soon reveal that some unscheduled road works were happening ahead and that the road wasn’t going to be open for several more hours, leaving you without a route to get home. You’d stop and grab your phone, desperately getting your maps application out to see if there was another road home or not, the map eventually revealing that there was another way to get there. It would take an hour more than it should  and it was through a dirt road but at least you were able to get back home and as such you turned around and headed towards the dirt road.

As you drove into the outskirts of the city you’d think about the forest that surrounded the road, remembering it from your childhood as a dangerous, forbidden area that attracted more rumours then it did wildlife. You always heard stories about what lurked in the forests as a child, hearing all about how there were wild beasts that fed off flesh and ground bones between their teeth, eagerly awaiting for the next piece of meat that wandered into the woods. You never really believed them, figuring you’d have actually seen the monsters lurking around if they were any. Instead you guess it was just something people told their kids to stop them going into the forest as to avoid injuries but there were always some people who insisted there was something lurking within it.

You’d feel as the road would grow rockier and rockier as you moved closer to the forest, starting to see the light of the moon highlight the shifting branches and falling leaves as you turned your headlights up to max, figuring there would be nothing else to see you. You passed by the last vassals of civilization, a few rusted road signs and some bollards that had long since been covered in varying grass and shrubs. Soon the road became dirt whilst the moon was soon covered by branches or leaves, some of which fell down onto your car, sliding off it and falling down to the ground. You would start moving slower, not wanting to go too fast less you go slamming into the trees, the relaxing tunes that were on the radio soon being replaced with the sound of quiet static.

The drive continued as planned, dirt kicking up from between your wheels as the light highlighted the trees, the shadows stretching over the road as you continued travelling forward, humming in place of the radio. Despite the fact it was a dirt road it didn’t seem that it was too bad especially since it wasn’t having rocks sticking out the dirt to stab into your tires nor had any large sticks landed themselves on the road. This was until you heard the sound of something clanking inside of the hood, the radio cutting out before everything else did, leaving you in the dark before your engine stopped and left you in silence. You sat there in silence for a moment out of shock before you moved your hand to the keys and started to try and get the car started, hoping something just tripped out.

You attempted several times, moving slowly and moving quickly but every attempt would fail, leaving you stuck in the dark as you groaned, wondering what else could possibly happen now to delay your trip. You grabbed your phone and turned on the flashlight, briefly straining your eyes before you got out of the car and went to see what was going on, opening the hood of the car to see that there was nothing wrong that you could see. A groan escaped your lips and got down on the ground, looking to see if there was anything wrong with the underside of your vehicle only to see it unharmed. You went up to check the engine again, humming lightly to yourself before you heard the sound of the bushes rustling beside you with you turning to see what was going on.

At first all you saw was darkness with you waiting for a couple of moments before you heard the bushes rustling again, the sound being one of something being crushed underfoot which worried you greatly. “Hey, is anyone there?” You shouted into the darkness, the crunching growing closer and louder as you grabbed ahold of your phone and shone the light into the darkness only to see a shadow dip into the bushes. This concerned you even more as you waited for the shadow to poke itself back up and move again only for it not to do so with it being clear that the thing was waiting for you to withdraw the flashlight. With that you moved your hands to the screen and hesitantly turned the flashlight, waiting for a second before you saw your stalker pop out of the shadows.

You couldn’t make out the details of the being from the darkness but you could see that it was a vaguely humanoid in nature although you couldn’t make out any of the other details as you watched as it would step into the road.  As it would get closer you’d see that it was wearing clothes, seemingly wearing a top and an ill-fitting set of jeans which didn’t seem to really fit the body that they were draped on. As she got closer you’d see that her proportions didn’t seem to be that human, her limbs being thinner then they should be with you also noticing that she didn’t seem to be wearing any socks or shoes. You quickly shut the hood of your car and jumped inside of it, desperately locking the doors behind you as the beast got close enough for you to see what it actually was.

You spent a few moments frozen before you started to comprehend what you were seeing, your eyes glancing up at the head to see it as entirely skeletal in nature, resembling that of a wolf's skull with a distinct muzzle and a set of sharp white teeth laying across the mouth. The woman’s eyes were completely black with a pinprick white iris inside of them, her ears having holes running around their edges whilst the woman had a mop of stringy black hair that moved down the back of her neck. As expected the rest of the woman’s body was humanoid in nature although covered in a thick layer of black fur which did little to stop the highlight the curves that she had, the woman looking slightly too skinny for what she should be. You then looked down at her hands to see each of them was tipped with a sharp black claw, the woman also seeming to have a tail that was currently laying idle behind her back. Finally you looked down at her feet to see that they were very dog-like in nature, the feet digging down into the dirt as she would keep moving closer to the car.

Eventually the woman would stop, being a couple of feet away from your car as you waited for her to pounce, running your keys between your fingers as  you got ready to try and fight back against the creature. However, as the seconds wound on you’d soon realise that she wasn’t going to move any closer, let alone try and break into your car as you wondered what the hell it was going to do to you in the first place. The beast would stare into your eyes for several moments, her face reflected in the window as you’d watch her move her hand upwards to your top, hooking her claws between the fabric. The woman seemingly waited for a couple moments, staring at you before she did something that you hadn’t expected her to do which was pull her top upwards.

The woman’s breasts soon fell out of her shirt, revealing the orbs to you, the woman’s chest being surprisingly large for such a thin creature, her nipples poking out from her also being completely black. You stared at the woman’s tits for a couple moments, shocked at what you were seeing which the woman seemed to like quite a lot, the closest thing she could muster to a smile  being written all over her face. After a few more seconds she’d let go off your top, letting the fabric drop messily onto her tits before she turned and started to run away into the forest, disappearing into the darkness and leaving you alone. You would stare into the darkness for a few moments, not being able to believe what had happened as you wondered what to do next only to realise there wasn’t much you could do.

With that you would jam your keys into the car, desperately hoping that your car was functional as you went to start it up, breathing a sigh of relief as you heard the sound of your car starting up,the dash board lighting up. You didn’t waste anytime, shifting your car into first gear and starting your drive out of the woods, desperately slamming on the pedal to try and get out of the area as fast as you could. As you drove you wondered why the beast had just gone about flashing you and doing nothing else especially when you had heard all the stories about them eating people when you were a kid. Either way you just decided to go back home, leaving the forest to its inhabitants as you simply hoped that you never ran into any more creatures in the forests again.
