The Dwemer themselves were a mysterious race of beings even before their disappearance, known to be extremely knowledgeable in almost all areas from the earthly sciences to the arcane although they often kept to themselves and as such shared little to no knowledge with other races. They hid in underground cities away from the prying eyes off all other races, regularly engaging in battle with species such as giant goblins and the falmer before they would disappear from existence.
