All things considered being a night guard wasn’t the hardest job especially since you clocked in after closing time and left at a point where you’d be waking up before noon so you could do something with your day. It helped that the mall you were protecting wasn’t exactly the most alive place, being filled with fast food joints and a few shops which meant there wasn’t much to steal and the shops that were there had much easier to steal from analogs outside the store. Please post to Nightmare waifus.) It was nice to get out and about every once and while, especially when times got just a bit stressful that you needed to unwind. You had already prided yourself in still living in your hometown after all this time, the place having not been too stressful before the order had got exposed with a low crime rate although, given that a main road was running right through it,  there was always some degree of traffic on the roads. Now things looked the same aesthetically with nothing having really been changed unlike in the cities where the riots had been way worse and as such a lot of buildings had either been burnt down or looted but logistically things were a bit more of a nightmare. You had no memory of how you got here nor did you have any idea of where you came from, only the lingering feeling that you didn’t belong in the biomechanical wasteland that was around you and that there was a way out somewhere. You had no idea where to begin in your quest to escape, none of  what could generously be called buildings having any words on them that would allow you to tell where you were with the only markers you could come with was the flesh machinery that  was left to run on its own.
