In the dark (OC)

 You looked up into your roof as you rested in your bed, the covers hugging against your body like a snake wrapped around your body as you silently seethed to yourself about the day that you had just had with you just being glad that you had managed to survive the day and get home without breaking something in work. You didn’t know why the clients had to change what they wanted from you very five days, pretty much making your entire weeks work invalid and having to have you rush some other stuff up, but for now you just wanted to go to sleep and wake up tomorrow morning but you just couldn’t bring yourself too, your anger fuelling you to stay awake as your heart beat wildly. Everything just felt uncomfortable as you’d shift around in your bed some more, the mattress seeming like there was rocks inside of it, your pillows seeming like metal weights and your covers like sandpaper as you attempted to shut your eyes and keep them shut.

You’d open your eyes again, your eyelids not feeling even slightly heavy before you moved your hands to the back of your head and rested staring up at the darkness, waiting for your body to get fed up with you and force you to sleep. You’d see shapes dance in the darkness, the shadows starting off subtle like long lines of shadow moving across the air as well as shapes twisting in the air with the shapes sometimes shifting into things that resembled a face or a body, as if there was a being waiting in the darkness for you. Of course, you knew that nothing was hiding in the darkness, especially you didn’t know there was anything that could crawl across your roof that wasn’t a hallucination, your limbs shifting away in your bed somewhat as you would do so.

That was when you felt something push against the bottom of your mattress right in the area of your back, feeling as it pushed you up somewhat before it went back down again with you knowing exactly what this was as you laid there for a few more moments. You’d feel what was lurking under your bed pushing up against your mattress, pushing up against your legs and your thighs before stopping a couple of times as you looked over to the blackout curtains that you had just installed. You had installed them a couple weeks ago to make things easier for yourself as well as ensuring that you could keep the light out of your room since the sun, for some reason, seemed to shine as brightly as humanly possible through your window in order to wake you up in the morning.

You then felt as the shifting would stop underneath your mattress, the being that was underneath it seemingly going dormant again as you looked down at the edge of your bed, seeing as it would pull itself into the darkness. Although you wouldn’t see as anything would crawl out from under your bed and reveal itself in the darkness, the being under your bed clearly did not want to come out just yet which was weird given that there wasn’t any light inside of the room but you figured that they may see things differently to you. With that you placed your head back into the pillow again, looking up at the darkness to see that it would have been plunged even deeper into the abyss, your fingers scratching against your skull slightly in the process, scratching a itch that wasn’t really there.

You’d keep gazing up into the darkness as you’d shift your feet around somewhat as you would do so, glancing around the dark of your room before you’d proceed to clamp your eyes shut, hoping that the darkness would eventually drift you to sleep. Of course, this didn’t work since you still felt as awake as you always did regardless, your eyes resting in your skull as you suddenly felt something tugging away at your foot before the hand seemed to realize that and moved away. You then felt as the beast would grab the mattress and start pulling it down somewhat with your eyes snapping open and looking down to see something that some people would consider to be a more monster, a hellbeast in a vaguely human form but to you, you would consider them to be a lover.

The first place that you looked was the face of the beast of which you couldn’t see for the most part due to the fact that it was obscured by the darkness, something that it always was which meant you could only see stuff like her large, bright white eyes and her teeth which seemed to be animalistic then human with how sharp they were. You could see as the beast hair moved down their body, the long and thin strands being moved so that they were hanging against their shoulders, their skin being a steel-like gray with your eyes slowly looking across their freckled shoulders and down to their arms which would start to turn a rotting black halfway up the arm with her hands and wrists being completely blackened. You then looked down the rest of their body, looking at her rather large tits that were splattered with freckles around the nipples worth the beast also having a plentiful amount of chub to her with you seeing her crotch was obscured by the darkness as you started to think back again.

You two had met when you were a child but it wasn’t the typical way you’d meet a child sweetheart because they had started out as the monster hiding in your closet, staring at you from the inky abyss. When you were younger you were absolutely terrified of those large eyes and those sharp teeth, afraid they would emerge from the darkness and rip you to shreds with you eventually deciding to face your fear and walk up to the beast and started talking to her, something that seemed to shock her. You didn’t really talk much at first, the two of you didn’t really have that much common ground but eventually they would talk more and more and soon enough you were friends although it was much harder to coax her out of the closet for various reasons.

The first one was that they was unable to stay anywhere that wasn’t a dark place with even the slightest bits of lights meaning that they couldn’t manifest anywhere that wasn’t under the bed or inside of your closet, at least that was the case until you begged your mom to get blackout curtains. The second thing that you figured out was the beasts didn’t have a concept of gender, mainly due to the fact that they were manifestations from darkness and as such had no need for gender or most human standards for that matter. They did seem to have genitals but they seemed to choose what they wanted at random which meant that your lover was certainly the more human as they spoke about those with many limbs and zero eyes and others that seemed to dabble in the more extreme version by making themselves barely comprehensible.

You’d learnt all of this as you grew closer and closer together with everything escalating from sitting in front of the wardrobe with her barely poking their head out of it to both of you laying down on your bed together. Of course, the conversations would grow  more and more intimate as time would go on  although you’d never figured out how they ate food or how they were able to reproduce and eventually you popped the question and asked if you and them wanted to be a thing. They would happily accept and now you and them had been in a relationship for as long as you we’re willing to remember as you eventually snapped yourself back to reality,seeing the woman staring at you from the other side of the bed before they would smile at you as they would do so.

You’d watch as they would outstretched her hands out into the air before pushing them down onto the mattress again, slowly prowling over it as they would keep their head in the darkness with you almost wondering what they looked like behind the dark. Soon they’d make their way over to you, their movements being long and heavy as their body looked over you before they would proceed to lay themselves down onto the mattress, the sound  of the mattress creaking out into the air before they would speak to you again. “What’s the matter? You’re shifting around a lot, Anon?” They said in a voice that was low and mixed in the way of tones, the woman letting herself get comfortable as they shifted around in the mattress, stretching their limbs as they would wait for you to turn around which you eventually did, looking onto their tits as you would do so.

“Oh, it’s just work being annoying again, I just can’t get it out of my head.” You said as they nodded although you could see in her eyes that that clearly wanted more info then just that as they would start moving her arm towards you. “It’s just this client is right fucking prick, cunt wants us to change the project despite the fact we’re almost done and wants us to do it by the same deadline!” You’d shout into the air as they would nod her head some more and push her fingers against your scalp, scratching it somewhat as they would do so. “It’s just so aggravating, I just want to punch him in his stupid fucking face.” You’d say as they scratched against your scalp more and more, the woman’s mouth letting out a they would start to stretch her arms out again which made you wonder what they was going to do next.

You’d then feel as her arms would wrap around your body, the woman slowly moving one of them underneath your rib cage and back around again with the woman eventually managing to get you into a hug again in the process. They would then proceed to tighten her grip around your body, the being moving you closer to their body, your head resting up against their breasts as they would look down at you, their wide eyes staring right down at you as her hand would pat against your head before they spoke. “There, there, everything’s going to be fine. It’s all going to blow over in a week or so.” They said as they would smile at you somewhat, rubbing your head as they moved their own closer to you, just to make sure that you were a little bit more closer to them than before.

“Besides, don’t go worrying about work right now, you’ve got me to look after you, after all.” They said as they would keep scratching away at your near somewhat, staring down at you as they would do so. “And you’ll always have me to look after you as well, got that? I’m not leaving as long as the darkness still exists under your bed or in your cupboard.” They would explain as you looked up at them with a smile before you would start winding your arms around their long and somewhat wide body. You’d eventually manage to hug them as well, feeling their soft skin against your own as you were now pushed even closer together then you were before, the sound of their breathing and the feeling of their chest moving up and down helping you calm down somewhat in the process.

With that you would both lay there for several moments, the sound of silence moving across the air as you would feel yourself get more and more relaxed by the moment as you melted into eachothers arms. As you both laid there you thought about how lucky you were to have them with you, to have them by your side no matter what despite the fact that you couldn’t go out during the day with them, knowing that they would rest with you for the rest of your life through thick and thin. Suddenly you’d feel as they would begin to shift against you, their thin arms slowly unwrapping from you before they would proceed to stand up and stretch their arms, seemingly ready to go back under the bed again as you half pulled yourself off the bed,yawning all the while.

“Where are you going then?” You asked them as they would turn around, looking ever so slightly confused as they would do so.

“I’m going back into the dark, the suns going come up in a few hours, after all.” they would say as you would go and chuckle at what they had said before you would point over to the curtains that you had installed.

“My curtains are blackouts, remember. No suns coming from out there unless it explodes.” You said, illicting a chuckle from the being as they would look back at you, crossing her arms slightly as they would do so. “So come on and sit here with me for a while, eh?” You asked as they would let out another chuckle and would walk back over to the bed, the woman practically jumping onto the mattress as she would move herself closer to you, her arms wrapping around you almost immediately. You’d follow by wrapping your arms around their body, rubbing your fingers across their back as the two of you would stay in bed together with you feeling as both of you would warm eachothers up,your eyes looking into their own to see love moving around inside of them.

With that you’d suddenly feel something that you hadn’t felt in a long,long while and that was the pleasant sense of tiredness that moved over your body as you’re about to go to sleep, your limbs feeling like they were growing heavier and more relaxed whilst your eyes felt like they had out ten tonne balls of steel in your sockets. You’d smile as you’d snuggle closer to the beasts body, feeling as the chest would move up and down somewhat as your eyes closed completely, your thoughts becoming more and more scattered by the moment,your head shifting around somewhat as you’d slowly fall into unconsciousness, the last thing you thought being how lucky you were to have her.
